Wisdom Teeth Removal in Orange City, FL

At Revive Dentistry, we provide comfortable, reliable wisdom teeth removal in Orange City, FL to address pain, crowding, impaction, and other concerns. Dr. Omid Khezri offers personalized care to help protect your oral health and keep your smile feeling its best.

Wisdom teeth typically start coming in during the late teens or early twenties, but many mouths just don’t have enough room for a third set of molars. When there is not enough space, a wisdom tooth can grow in at an angle, get stuck beneath the gum line, or push against the tooth next to it, and any of these situations can lead to swelling, discomfort, or a nagging ache along the back of the jaw. Left alone, an impacted or crooked wisdom tooth can also trap food and bacteria against the gum, gradually raising the risk of infection or damage to a neighboring tooth.

At Revive Dentistry, we help patients throughout Orange City address wisdom teeth before they become a bigger problem, using our oral surgery services to remove a troublesome tooth in a single visit whenever possible. Dr. Omid Khezri takes a foundations-first approach to every extraction, so your gum health and surrounding teeth are evaluated carefully before any recommendation is made, and you are never rushed into a procedure your mouth is not ready for.

Signs Your Wisdom Teeth May Need to Come Out

Not every wisdom tooth causes trouble, and some people keep theirs for life without ever noticing them. Certain signs are still worth paying attention to, because catching an issue early usually makes removal simpler and recovery shorter.

Swelling near the back of the jaw, a tooth that has only partially broken through the gum, or a shift in nearby teeth can all point to a wisdom tooth that needs attention. Pain that flares up while chewing, or a jaw that feels tight or sore first thing in the morning, are also common complaints among patients who eventually need an extraction. For those who have already worked hard to align their teeth, a shifting wisdom tooth can also crowd the front teeth over time.

What to Expect During Your Wisdom Teeth Removal at Revive Dentistry

We rely on our dental technology, including 3D imaging and CT scanning, to map the exact position of each wisdom tooth before any instrument comes near your mouth. This gives Dr. Khezri a clear picture of how a tooth is angled and how close it is to nearby nerves before beginning. Consistent with his approach of walking patients through their own X-rays, he will show you exactly where your wisdom teeth sit and explain the reasoning behind his recommendation rather than simply telling you what to do.

For patients who feel nervous about the procedure, our sedation dentistry options, including nitrous oxide and oral sedation, help you stay relaxed and comfortable from start to finish. Once a tooth is removed, Dr. Khezri may also recommend Platelet-Rich Fibrin, a technique that draws a small sample of your own blood and uses it to help the extraction site heal more quickly and comfortably. Because PRF comes directly from your own body, it fits naturally with our whole-person approach to care, and patients who try it often notice less swelling and a smoother recovery in the days that follow.

Caring for Your Smile After Wisdom Teeth Removal

The days right after a wisdom tooth extraction matter just as much as the procedure itself, and a few simple habits can make healing faster and noticeably more comfortable. According to InformedHealth.org, a health information resource maintained by the National Library of Medicine, most patients experience some swelling and jaw stiffness for a few days afterward, and certain foods and habits can slow healing.

The following simple steps can help you recover comfortably during that first week:

  • Hold an ice pack against your cheek during the first day or two to help ease swelling.
  • Stick to soft foods like potatoes, fish, or pasta, and avoid anything hard or crunchy.
  • Skip smoking, hot drinks, and fruit juice, which can slow healing.
  • Hold off on strenuous exercise for a few days, even once you start feeling better.

Following these steps closely during the first week gives the extraction site the best chance to heal cleanly, and our team is happy to answer any questions that come up along the way.
